Canvas is a very effective tool for both the teacher and the student. I had the pleasure of using Canvas when I was pursuing an online Masters degree with Queen Mary University of London. Canvas allows the teachers to post subject material well ahead of time so that the student is prepared for the weekly topics. Teachers are also able to post supplementary readings for the students as well as tips on other areas of study. When I used Canvas, it was linked with Turnitin for the submission of assignments. Canva was able to email receipts when I submitted assignments and notified me when my tutor released my grade. It also gave me a weekly update of all activities which happened during the week. I would highly recommend the use of Canva in the classroom.

The ‘Why Canvas’ and ‘Introduction to Canvas for Teachers’ videos were helpful in understanding the utility of Canvas as a learning management system. I have seen that it provides a valuable facility for teachers to manage assignments and easily integrate technology into their lessons to make learning more meaningful to students and keep them motivated and engaged. I can also see how Canvas can maximize teacher communication with students through features such as inbox, conferencing, chat, notifications among others, which is a very important.
ReplyDeleteMy experience with Canvas LMS is very limited however I definitely like the Canvas editor system that allows educators to create virtual and physical content for classes. However the personalization of the portal for students seems like a integral component for management of classes, incorporation of this platform would definitely facilitate easier communication.
